Minneapolis, Minnesota – August 2 nd, 2007 (SecureForceLLC.com) – SecureForce LLC, a private security firm based in Minneapolis, reports that it continues to provide services to the City of Minneapolis throughout the incident and for the foreseeable future.
BACKGROUND
At approximately 1810 hours on 1 AUGUST 2007, the Mississippi Bridge span of I-35W suffered a structural collapse while motorists were on the bridge. Minneapolis Police and Fire Departments were dispatched for rescue operations. SecureForce personnel learned of the event at approximately 1815 hours, as well as SecureForce Management.
SECUREFORCE RESPONSE
At approximately 1835 hours, 1 AUGUST 2007, SecureForce personnel arrived on the scene. These officers were volunteers who were called up at approximately 1820 hours, and agreed to report to the scene to render aid. Upon arrival, these officers worked with Minneapolis Fire and Police to secure the scene, control traffic in the immediate area, and control the crowds of people in the area.
Throughout the night on the 1 st, SecureForce officers manned barricades, controlled traffic into and out of the scene, and provided general security services to the city throughout the incident area.
CONTINUED SECUREFORCE PRESENCE
SecureForce will continue to provide personnel to the city to help provide protect the integrity of the accident scene, control crowds of onlookers, and direct traffic throughout the area. These services are being offered free of charge, with SecureForce absorbing the costs of providing the officers.
